Pembroke corgis have no ancestor history but
a old folktale that says two children found two
dogs (corgis) that they thought were foxes they
brought the two dogs home and there parents
said they were gifts from fairies. Other legends
say fairies used small dogs like corgis to pull
carriages into war. But the Cardigan breeds
ancestors are collies and other herding dogs.

Corgis need lots of exercise because they get
overweight very easily.
They live about 12 to 14 years long rarely they
18 years long.
Corgi’s spines are very long and that makes it
very easy for them to have back problems.
Corgis get eye diseases very easily.

Corgi means dwarf dog.
Queen Elizabeth the 2 had 16 corgis.
8. BIRTH
There are 1 to 12 puppies in a litter.
They weigh about 10oz at birth.
They may inherit diseases like epilepsy,
degenerative myelopathy, and von willebrunds
disease.

There are 2 breeds of corgis the Pembroke, and
the Cardigan
Cardigan’s ears are farther apart then the
Pembroke’s.

The Pembroke breed is a older breed then the
Cardigan breed the Pembroke breed is 3,000
years old.
