Indian Film Festival Los Angeles Gives Top Prize to 'Chauranga' | Variety
"Chauranga" (Four Colors"), directed by Bikas Mishra, took the grand jury prize for feature narrative
at the Indian Film Festival Los Angeles on Sunday night. Brothers J. Vignesh and Ramesh tied for the
actor prize for "Kakka Muttai" (The Crow's Egg) while Kalki Koechlin and Swetha Tripathi tied for
the actress trophy in "Margarita, With a Straw" and "Haraamkhor," respectively. "Dandekar Makes a
Sandwich" won the grand jury prize for short.
Audience awards went to "The Crow's Egg" for narrative feature, "Tomorrow We Disappear" for
docu and "Safar" (Journey) for short.
The 13th edition of IFFLA, which started April 8 and closed Sunday with the unspooling of Berlin
award winner "Dhanak," directed by Nagesh Kukunoor.
