2. Third World Film
• Third world film conventions consist of three
different things, political, cultural and social
changes.
• These films will be low budget films but will
also be located in deprived countries.
3. Conventions
• Third world films are usually real life stories.
• The problem in the film is usually based
around depression and struggle in a deprived
area.
4. Funding
The third world films are funded by:
• People giving them money.
• Banks giving them loans
• Sponsorship
• Word of mouth
• It is hard to fund a third world film because they are
low budgeting. Being a third world film wont be as
well known, so this will mean that not as many people
are likely to fund for it. You will need to advertise your
film as cheap as you can whilst trying to gain as many
viewers as possible.
6. Comparing a third world film to
Hollywood and British films
Comparing the third world films and Hollywood Films
Third world films are very different to hollywood films because a
third world film shows us whats going on in other countries, this
allows us to see how they are strugeling etc on a daily basis. Also the
actors or actresses in the hollywood films will usually be well known
were as in the third world films they will not be known at all.
Comparing the third world films and British films
British indie films and third world films are both nearly the same as
each other. But tbey both show the same type of
genres, crime, gangs, social issues and realism. They are low
budgeted films with unknown actors or actresses in. third world
films focus on how they are suffering and British indie films show
what the country they live in is really like whilst focusing on the
gangs violence and crime etc.
