Explanation
A form of gathering information from a
group of individuals.
Use: Gathering loads of data in a short time.
Example: Satisfaction survey to find out how
the customer service provided for the
customer. Whether they had a good or bad
experience shopping in the
store.Disadvantage: The customer could not
feel encouraged to provide inaccurate and
dishonest answers.
A set of written or printed questions with the
choice of a few answers.
Use: for a statistical study.
Example: The question could be ‘123’s
products have improved’ and the answers to
circle can be; Strongly agree, agree, neither,
disagree, strongly disagree.
Disadvantage: People may not have the time
to fill them out, or the questionnaire might
be after the event and people have forgotten
what has happened.
Talk between one another, usually between
a couple people.
Use: You can ask the interviewee about the
topic you want information about
Example: Face to face interviews.
Disadvantages: The interviewee may not
show up or may feel intimidated in the
situation they are in. This could affect the
answers provided.

Internet
Explanation
The internet is a global network, gathering
millions of data and information from
countries linked to it around the world.
Use: the internet has many uses such as paying
the bills online, shopping, or even finding
information about practically everything. The
information will not always be accurate.
Example: Blogs and Wikipedia pages about a
certain topic or thing.
Disadvantage: Information can be fake or
falsified and made up. Risks of viruses when
trying to find some information and damage
personal belongings like laptops/pc’s/tablets
Newspaper
A newspaper is a printed publication of
information, adverts and pictures. Has been
written by journalists who go around the
country/world to gather information.
Use: To publish information based on real time
events for readers to find out what’s going on
in the world.
Example: Article on gas/electricity prices going
up.
Disadvantage:Newspapers don’t keep up with
real time events as they have to print and edit.

A form of visual and audio information being
transmitted on the screen.
Use Can use for watching documentary’s on
information about a certain topic you may
want to know about; such as animals or
government
Example: Live broadcast on the weather for
the week.
Disadvantage: False advertisements are
