1. Final Reflection Essay
There are many different feelings about French class. I feel that overall this class
was a very good class. The things I liked were that we got more in to the culture of
France and learning about the people and how they live. I also love that we have the
opportunity to take French 3 next year and that we have the amazing opportunity to
actually go to France. The things I didn’t like were that we have to move and learn so
fast sometimes there would be things I didn’t understand and we’d move on the next
day so i never had a chance to fully understand the material.
The things I did well on in this course would have to be the projects. I’m really
good at doing projects and I don’t mind doing them if there fun and not just the same old
boring projects. Another thing I think I did well was vocabulary. I’m really good at
memorizing and interpreting vocabulary and I think that helped me a lot throughout this
course. I don’t think I didn’t do well on anything except verbs. I don’t think I did bad on
them but I think if we would’ve had more time to go over them then I would’ve
understood them a lot better and would’ve done better on them.
This course has taught me many skills to carry on into French 3 and other
classes as well. I hope that by taking French 3 my comprehension of the language will
improve more and more. I think this course really helped me come up with some good
study habits that i will use in other classes next year. I like quizlet and I think that it’s a
great tool to use to study definitions and other things. I think making hand made flash
cards is another good study tool that I will take with me to other classes. With all the
projects we had in here I learned about new websites that I could use to do other
projects for other classes on. I think learning about those websites and becoming
familiar with them was a good thing because I get tired and think teachers get tired of
seeing the same old Imovie or the same old Keynote and they want to see something
different.
There were many different strategies we used throughout the course. I think that
one that helped me the most was quizlet. It’s just a good way to get things stuck in your
memory to where you can’t forget them. I also think that putting people together in a
group is a good strategy because you can rely on them but at the same time you know
that you can do things on your own to. Your group members also help you learn
because if theres something that you don’t understand their there for you and can help
you. Another strategy that helped was the extra credit vocabulary flash cards. I think
this is a very good and helpful strategy because it helps you learn your vocabulary and
it gets you extra points so your grade improves as well.
Communicating the language takes a lot of time and hard work. I think that with
what I learned in French 1 and French 2 that I could communicate the language if I
needed to. I think that I still have a lot to learn and a lot to improve on but I know if I put
my mind to it that I could do it. I hope that with French 3 it will give me the push I need
2. Final Reflection Essay
There are many words of wisdom I would give to someone starting this course.
the first would have to be to stick with it. One theres no point for starting it and then not
finishing it and two you need to language credits to graduate. The next thing that I
would tell them is don’t procrastinate on anything just get it done don’t wait. Another
thing I would tell them is to find love for the French language and culture. The last thing
I would tell them is to not give up keep going even if theres things you don’t understand
just keep on going.
There are many things I have learned about the French culture and language. I
have learned that in France schools and there whole lifestyle is different than the U.S.
In France it’s not always about how much money you have it’s about loving life and
living it regardless of your social standing. In France they care a lot more about
education than most students do in the U.S. In the language i’ve learned a lot of new
vocabulary. I’ve also learned about verbs and where you use them and how you
conjugate them. I’ve learned a lot during this course and I hope to continue learning in
French 3 next year!
