TechSoup Canada and NetSquared invited me to speak about Crowdsourcing. The presentation is two parts: how CrisisCamps crowdsourced and then tips for Crowdsourcing programs for NFP and NGO communities.
2. Crisis Commons is a global network of volunteers who use creative problem solving and open technologies to help people and communities in times and places of crisis. Crisis Commons members create organized response events called CrisisCamps.
10. CrisisCamp Haiti • Call to action; global footprint • Low barrier to entry; replicable • Recognized by CROs and VTCs • Focus on mapping, missing persons, language and search
13. Ushahidi is a volunteer technical community. They lead the response with Pakreport.org for the Pakistan Floods. CrisisCamps held a Global Marathon on September 3-5, 2010. We collaborated with the Pakreport team and learned how to submit reports.
