Scrub Ancient coastal dunes deposited during the Pleistocene sea-level changes. • Likely the oldest plant community in Florida. data taken from pollen profiles in lake and pond sediments, a community much like the modern scrub was in central Florida about 5,000 years ago. • 40-60% of the plants in the scrub are endemic
- 5. Annonaceae Annonaceae is primarily a tropic family and characteristic of low wetland forests. (Judd et al. 2001) Asimina is the sole temperate genus.
