1. GOLD
Characteristics and Features:
Gold is a dense, soft, shiny, malleable and ductile metal. It has a bright yellow color and
luster traditionally considered attractive, which it maintains without oxidizing in air or
water. Most of the Earth's gold lies at its core. Whereas most other pure metals are gray
or silvery white, gold is yellow. Gold is a very soft metal, being 2. 3 on a hardness scale
of 10, which is one of the factors giving gold its tremendous malleability-meaning that it
can be pounded, twisted, rolled and/or squeezed into all kinds of different shapes
without breaking apart.Gold is one of the 92 naturally occurring elements found on
earth. Gold is extremely dense, one of the heaviest of all metals. gold is almost never
100-percent pure.
Uses:
Gold's special properties mean that it has a greater variety of uses than almost any
metal. Gold conducts electricity, does not tarnish, is very easy to work, can be
drawn into wire, can be hammered into thin sheets, alloys with many other metals,
can be melted and cast into highly detailed shapes, has a wonderful color and a
brilliant luster. the many uses of gold in industry, medicine, computers, electronics,
jewelry, dentistry, coins, space, art and more.
Location:In RekoDiq, Baluchistan, deposits of gold are present.
2. IRON
Characteristics and Features:
Iron ores are rocks and minerals from which metallic iron can be economically extracted.
The ores are usually rich in iron oxides and vary in color from dark grey, bright yellow,
deep purple, to rusty red. The iron itself is usually found in the form
of magnetite, hematite, goethite, limonite or siderite. Although iron is the fourth most
abundant element in the Earth's crust. Iron ore is a mineral block which may be found
underground. It is the most common mineral. 98% of the mined iron ore is used to make
steel. The world's largest producer of iron ore is the Brazilian mining corporation.
Uses:
Iron is used to make tools and armor. It is used primarily in structural engineering
applications and in maritime purposes, automobiles, and general industrial applications
(machinery). Almost all iron ore is used in blast furnaces to make pig iron which is the
main material in steelmaking.
Location:Its founded in Chilgazi, kalabagh and Langarial.
3. CHROMITE
Characteristics and Features
Chromite is an iron chromium oxide mineral and the only ore of chromium metal. It is a
mineral found in ultra baisc rocks such as peridotite. It is also found in serpentines and
other metamorphic rocks derived from the alteration of ultrabasic rocks. It is a high
temperature mineral often found in the lower parts of magma bodies from the fractional
crystallization process. Chromite is the only ore of chromium, a metal used to induce
hardness, toughness and chemical resistance in steel. The alloy produced is known as
"stainless steel". Its color is ironic black. In 2002 14,600,000 metric tons of chromite was
mined. The largest producers were South
Africa (44%) Pakistan (18%), Kazakhstan (16%).
Uses:
1. Stainless Steel
2. Furnace Linings
3. Chemical industry like in Dyes and pigments,Inks and Tanning.
Location:It is founded in Muslim bagh , Pakistan.
4. CELESTITE
Characteristics and Features:
Celestite crystals are found in some geodes. It is mostly found
insedimentary rocks, often associated with the
minerals gypsum, anhydrite, and halite.Celestite is
a mineral consisting of strontium sulfate. Celestine with inclusions
of sand, causing the specimen to be brown or grayish in color
and opaque.
Uses:
It is commonly used in fireworks and in various metal alloys. It is
also used as an ore of strontium.Celestites heavy specific gravity
makes it useful in rotary drilling mud.
Location: It is founded in Duadkhel ,andThanobula khan.
