 It
is an argumentative paper trying to sway
the reader's opinion towards your own.
The main point of a persuasive essay is to
convince the reader to think the same way
 you do.
 Instead of staying at home during PA Days,
students in grade six and above should be forced to
do some volunteer work in their community. For
one thing, there are a number of worthwhile
agencies who are in need of extra help. Also,
volunteering would get students out of the house
and active, which is much better for them than
sitting on the couch playing video games. Finally,
    volunteering would teach students responsibility
    and commitment to someone/something other
than themselves. Overall, PA Day volunteering is a
win-win situation for both students and their
    communities.
 You should do your own homework. Copying someone
else is illegal, and you can get a failing grade or even be
kicked out of school. If you cheat on your job, you can
be fired or arrested and put into jail; the government
will certainly find you if you cheat on your taxes!
Copying someone else's homework also means that you
never learn how to do that work for yourself, so when
you need the information later (let's say the teacher
actually gives you a test on it where you can't copy!)
then you don't know how to do it and you get another
bad grade. Also, if you don't do your homework, you
never learn how to discipline yourself to do unpleasant
things, and when you grow up you will always have
trouble making yourself do things like your job, paying
your bills, and saving money. In short, doing your own
homework is the best way to go!
 A four cylinder engine is much better than a six
cylinder engine for many reasons. The four
cylinder engine is designed to work at both high
and low revolutions, which allows for both fuel
economy and for high torque power. This is
particularly useful for the majority of drivers who
need a cheap, reliable engine to haul a small to
average amount of cargo in and around city
settings. The four cylinder engine can also produce
top speeds that most six cylinders cannot match.
The Porche 911 four cylinder engine is the fastest
production car available to the consumer. The four
cylinder engine is the most popular engine size in
the world and although it may not have the low
end power of a six cylinder, it does offer the
average driver with more than enough power for
    their driving needs.
1. Introduction
 A well-constructed introductory paragraph should
immediately capture the interest of your reader and
give appropriate background information about the
  topic
 Should present a clear statement of your argument-
  your thesis sentence
Thesis Sentence
 Should state the “what” and “how” of your argument
 What is the argument that you are trying to convince
  the reader to accept?
 How exactly do you expect to convince the reader that
  this argument is sound?
 contains the actual development of your
  paper's argument
 Each body paragraph should address one
key aspect of your paper's thesis and bring
the reader closer to accepting the validity of
  your argument
 Should have an effective topic sentence
Topic Sentence
 goal is to advance your paper's argument,
not just to describe the content of the
  paragraph
 An effective conclusion gives the reader
reasons for bothering to read your paper
 Should restate the paper's argument and how
you have supported this argument in the body
  of the paper
 should not simply be a copy of your
introduction, rather it should draw together
the threads of the paper's argument and show
where the argument of your paper has gone
1. Each paragraph should have one main idea
and every sentence in that paragraph should
support and connect to your main idea
2. State your organization. Make sure your
readers understand and follow the ideas
     that you are writing about
3. Use a straight line of development. State
your points clearly and support them.
4. Always double-check your facts
