SAINT Virtual Machines
Several virtual machines in different formats are available to run SAINT products.
All logins are User Name: SAINTadmin with the Password: SAINT!!!
SAINT 7
SAINT Professional Version 7 and SAINT Enterprise Version 7 are offered in zipped VMware .vmx and
.vmdk file structure. They can be used in VMware vSphere, ESXi, Workstation, Player, and Fusion
products depending on the host operating system and VMware environment.
SAINT 8
SAINT 8 is offered in VMware .vmx and .vmdk zipped format to use with VMware products. SAINT 8 is
also available in an Open Virtualization Format (.ova) file that can be used with other virtualization
products such as Oracle VirtualBox.
SAINT Virtual Machine OVA Instructions
SAINT 8 has been installed on an Ubuntu 12.04 LTS host. The SAINT8.ova file is used to populate the
Oracle VirtualBox application. The Open Virtualization Format file contains all the information needed
to create the SAINT virtual machine with no configuration on your end. Download the OVA file, then
import it into the VirtualBox software, then press start.

VMware Instructions
There are many ways to use the SAINT virtual machine. For example, SAINT 7 has been installed on
Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. SAINT 8 is also available as a VM on the Ubuntu 12.04 platform. You can use
VMware Player, VMware Workstation, VMware Fusion, ESX server, or ESXi server to run these products
virtually, on other platforms. One way is to convert them on the fly into your existing VMware server
environment using the Converter Standalone Client. Each option is described below.

For VMware Workstation: Double click on the unzipped file ExploitVM.vmx and it will open in the
Workstation software automatically.
For VMware Player: Open VMware Player and choose Open a Virtual Machine. Browse to the
unzipped ExploitVM.vmx file and open it. It will then be added to your VMware Player as ExploitVM.

For VMware Fusion: Launch Fusion on your MAC OSX and go to Home. Then click on Install Windows
or another operating system in a new Virtual Machine. Click on Continue without disk and then on the
next page click on Use an existing virtual disk. You can then browse to the directory where you
unzipped the downloaded file. Choose ExploitVM-disk1.vmdk and then click Continue. On the next
page click Customize Settings to change the memory to 2 GB as a minimum; you can go up to 3.5 GB
RAM as it is a 32-bit Linux OS. Click Finish.
Using the VMware vCenter Converter Standalone Software
Step 1: Click on Convert Machine and browse to your unzipped file
