1. Simple Image Textured background Textured backgrounds are common in horror film posters as they make images look more rugged and atmospheric. The Grunge textures connote violence and fear and gives the overall film poster more depth. I tried making a plain image look more textured on Photoshop in order to make it fit in with the horror genre. I done this By adding layers of textured backgrounds onto a simple image of a face. I layered backgrounds onto the face and changed The opacity in addition making the textured background look apart of the image.

If this exact image was placed on a horror Film poster it wouldn’t connote the horror genre One layer of textured background has been Added to the image. It looks more rugged And has more conventions of a horror film poster Two textured layers have been Added to this image. It is looking Rugged and atmospheric. This type Of multiple layering is used in horror Film posters
