From the Executive Director
Our talent pipeline is growing! This fall, Case Western Reserve welcomed the largest
freshman class in our history. The class admitted this year represents the single largest,
most diverse, and most academically qualified in the institution’s history. It includes
74 valedictorians, 42 salutatorians and 65 National Merit Finalists.
Case Western Reserve also moved up to 37th in the nation, as rated by the U.S. News
and World Report’s 2013 edition, due in part to the increase in freshman applications.
I invite you to read more about recent news from Case Western Reserve. As always, I
welcome your comments at corporaterelations@case.edu.
All my best,
Anne M. Borchert
Senior Executive Director of Corporate Relations and Strategic Projects

AT&T Supports Upward Bound Program
AT&T Ohio President, Tom Pelto, talks with Upward Bound students
AT&T Inc. announced a $200,000 contribution to support the Upward Bound Program at Case Western Reserve University. The
Upward Bound program was established in 1966 and is designed to prepare low-income and potential first-generation college high
school students for successful postsecondary studies.
The Upward Bound program has been named one of 47 recipients nationwide that will share in nearly $10 million from AT&T. With
more than 1 million students impacted since its launch in 2008, the AT&T Aspire program is one of the largest corporate
commitments focused on helping more students graduate from high school ready for college and careers.
