4. Chosen by God

5. Precious to him – “of great value”

6. Acceptable to God “Acceptable” – Greek adjective “euprosdektos” which means easily acceptable, pleasant, welcome,

7. “Spiritual” is the Greek adjective “pneumatikos”, having to do with the divine spirit, caused by or filled with the divine spirit.

8. “Offering” is the Greek verb “anaphero”, means to offer as a sacrifice, offer up. We deliberately and consciously offer up to God our worship.

9. “Sacrifices” is the Greek noun “thusia”, that which is offered as a sacrifice, offering. In the old testament the priest offered cattle, sheep, goats, bird, grain, incense etc. But in the New Testament the offerings are spiritual, from the heart.

10. To worship God is our highest calling ; nothing that we can do pleases God more.

11. Everybody worship something.

12. Worship is the ultimate expression of relationship with God.

13. The word most often used in the New Testament for worship (66 times in all) is the Greek word “proskuneo”, which can be translated to mean “to come towards a kiss”.

14. Worship is praise Worship is celebration Worship is intercession but worship, ultimately is adoration.

15. “Away with the noise of your songs” Amos 5:23

17. But what if the services or gatherings available to you aren’t 5-star worship bonanzas?

18. Worship is taking our eyes off ourselves and fixing them on the Lord.

19. Worship through music is the activity of the church gathered, while worship as a way of life is the activity of the church scattered.

21. OFFER A SACRIFICE OF OUR BODIES Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship.”

22. OFFER SACRFICIES OF DOING GOOD Hebrews 13:16 “Don’t forget to do good and to share what you have with those in need, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to God.”

23. OFFER SACRFICIES OF MONEY OR MATERIAL POSSESSION Hebrews 13:16 “Indeed I have all and bound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.”

24. OFFER SACRIFICES OF PRAISE Hebrews 13:15 “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is , the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name”

25. FROM THE HEART John 4:23 “…we must worship Him in spirit…”

26. ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE John 4:23 “…we must worship Him in spirit and in truth…”truth…”

31. LIFTING OUR HANDS Psalm 134:2 “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord…”

35. 3 Chosen generation : Lenten project Fast from Discouragement Hold on to Jesus’ promise that He has a perfect plan for your life.

36. 4 Chosen generation : Lenten project Fast from Complaining When you find yourself about to complain, close your eyes and recall some of the moments of joy Jesus has given you.

37. 5 Chosen generation : Lenten project Fast from Resentment or Bitterness Work on forgiving those who may have hurt you.

38. 6 Chosen generation : Lenten project Fast from Spending Too Much Money Try to reduce your spending by 10 percent and give those savings to the poor.

39. 7 Chosen generation : Lenten project Spend extra time for Personal Prayer & Quiet Time with God.
