body, most notably associated with
tampon use.
• Trichomaniasis is a sexually transmitted
disease in which motile Trichomonas
vaginalis protozoans become established
in the genitourinary tract of men and
women.
3. Symptoms
• The first symptom to become
visible and usually attacks the
skin, but it has also been known
to spread to the mouth,
esophagus, vagina, nails, and
intestines. The second overall
symptom to appear is the
endocrine disease
hypoparathyreosis.
4. How to Get It
• You get toxic shock by leaving
a tampon in a girls vagina too
long at it can be very deadly to
the girl who gets it.
• You can get Trich by having a
sexual intercourse with a man
or a woman.
5. How to be prevent it
• One way of preventing Trich is
not having a sexual intercourse
with another person.
• You can prevent toxic shock by
not leaving a tampon in a girl’s
vagina too long and not
forgetting it.
6. How to Treat it
• Because of the severity of the
illness, almost all patients with toxic
shock syndrome require
hospitalization. Intravenous fluids
and other medications are
administered to improve the blood
pressure, and antibiotics are used to
kill the bacteria and to decrease
production of the toxins that they
release.

• I know that STDs are deadly
diseases. I know that toxic
shock is when you leave a
tampon in a girls vagina too
long and it can kill them. I am
very scared of STDs because it
can kill me and I will do what I
can to prevent it.
