Writing on kindle - Making Money With Your Book
1.
2. Can People Really Make Money
From Kindle?
The short answer to this is yes. The
slightly longer, yet still valid answer
to this is ‘yes, you absolutely can.
Anyone can, it’s that easy.’ Well
that’s a great start, but it seems that
knowing you can make money by
doing something is only half the
battle.
3. What if you don’t know how to write a decent sentence,
let alone an entire book? What if you don’t know what
to write about? What if the world isn’t flat? All good
questions I must admit.
Let’s address them one at a time. Firstly, just type into
google ‘kindle success stories’ and you will get a vast
number of results of people both young and old that
have made an amazing amount of money through self-publishing
on kindle. If you don’t know how to write
well, or perhaps don’t have the penmanship to author
your own book, there is also a solution here as well.
Many people that are authors on kindle have not written
a single book.
4. They outsource everything from their
book cover, through to their marketing.
Bear in mind you will need a budget for
this, but let’s look at some figures here for
a moment. Say that you have a book
written for you for say $400 (yes, I am
using absolute extreme figures here), and
you get a cover made for approximately
$30, then your total expenditure is still
only $430 total. That is a once off price to
create an asset.
5. That asset may well pay you
hundreds of dollars over and
over again, which is far more
than you would ever get by
leaving that $430 in the bank.
To outsource these details, you
can look at many different
avenues. Putting a job out on
odesk, or one of the other
outsourcing websites will allow
you to pre-set your budget
before the job is undertaken.
6. Just as you wouldn’t change
direction half way through climbing
a ladder, nor should you change
course on your goals until you
complete them.
7. Be careful to only hire authors that have a
great reputation, and that are able to
show you some of their work beforehand
as well. You can also use smaller writing
companies, or even look for ‘ghost writers’
on the warrior forum. In terms of cover
creation, you can look towards services
such as fiverr which will help keep costs
down, and usually produce sufficient
quality work
8. If you do decide to do your own
writing, then you need to ensure
that you don’t give up when the
going gets tough. Some people
(such as myself) launch into projects
with all guns blazing, only to lose
steam in a very short space of time.
If this sounds like you, then you may
wish to replicate my strategy for
this. This was tough at first, but it
became habit, and eventually it was
just part of my routine.
9. I advise sitting down for thirty
minutes per day to write. Do
nothing else but write. Turn off your
phone, facebook, emails,
unnecessary browser tabs and just
write. I have adopted this routine,
and my productivity has skyrocketed
as a result. You will see similar
results by doing so. Soon enough
your thirty minute productive stint
has produced an asset for you to
sell. Do the hard yards once, and
reap the rewards.
10. Writing a book for
kindlcan be done by
anyone. It is easy, and
only takes some
determination to
complete e it. Once you
have one, you may find it
addictive. Success in any
field is addictive. I dare
you to try it!
