Firstly we have decided that it is going to have
an American theme as we think it will be very
interesting and challenging to create an
opening sequence using American details
including sounds and props.
As it will be an American film our audience will
also be American/British. We are thinking it
will be a large scale Hollywood film with
aspects of crime, drama and action.
All of our group are keen on the idea as we all
feel we can expand our skills and it will keep
us busy with organising and planning including
lots of research for our idea to work and be
effective.
Lots of idea is to build tension and keep the
audience guessing and have lots of questions.
As it’s only the opening sequence we still want
to keep it quite basic and not give too much
away.
This is our idea is basic terms:
Our sequence is going to be of a man who has been staying in a motel for a period
of time. We suspect that he has done something and is in hiding/ on the run as he
seems panicked when listening to the television. There will be multiple shots of
him around the room, from drinking to looking out the window. It will have lots of
tension especially when he hears police sirens and starts packing frantically. It will
end with him reloading a handgun and placing it in his back pocket and then
ending with a loud knock on the door.
We need to research thoroughly as it is going to be set in America. On the next page
you will see some of the ideas and props we are going to have to take into
consideration.
