Question:
In what ways does your media product
use, develop or challenge forms and
conventions of real media products?
Sherlock (Lighting)
Sherlock
Turf (our media product)
The television drama ‘Sherlock’
clearly shows similar shots in its
sequences as we do in ours (an
example would be shown on the
right).
This example shows that the
lighting is very alike in the two
shots, in order to create a
silhouette. We chose to do this
as we had seen it done before
and liked the mysterious effect
it gave.
The Bourne Identity
The Bourne Identity
Turf (our media product)
Our shot (bottom image) is very
similar to the first image in ‘The
Bourne Identity’. This shows
that we have created tension
and suspense in a similar way
to them, as well as following a
similar colour scheme giving
the assumption of a similar
location.
As ‘the bourne identity’ is a
thriller, it shows that our
product would work in that
genre.
Gang Films
Other British Independent films such as Kidulthood and Adult hood have
proved successful and have the type of mise-en-scene that our group
was trying to create. For example costume and props, which include
baseball bats, hoodies, trainers and jogging bottoms.

  • 1. Question: In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
  • 2. Sherlock (Lighting) Sherlock Turf (our media product) The television drama ‘Sherlock’ clearly shows similar shots in its sequences as we do in ours (an example would be shown on the right). This example shows that the lighting is very alike in the two shots, in order to create a silhouette. We chose to do this as we had seen it done before and liked the mysterious effect it gave.
  • 3. The Bourne Identity The Bourne Identity Turf (our media product) Our shot (bottom image) is very similar to the first image in ‘The Bourne Identity’. This shows that we have created tension and suspense in a similar way to them, as well as following a similar colour scheme giving the assumption of a similar location. As ‘the bourne identity’ is a thriller, it shows that our product would work in that genre.
  • 4. Gang Films Other British Independent films such as Kidulthood and Adult hood have proved successful and have the type of mise-en-scene that our group was trying to create. For example costume and props, which include baseball bats, hoodies, trainers and jogging bottoms.
