SUBJECT : Guidelines for Creative Marching
TO : All Units
In partial fulfillment of CAT requirements for the 3rd grading
period, all personnel, cadets and officers alike, shall participate in
the CREATIVE MARCHING activity. This will be recorded as the
practical test for the 3rd quarter. As such, the following guidelines
are to be observed:
1. GENERAL GUIDELINES
a. ALL COMPANIES shall be required to render a
presentation.
b. Each presentation should last for at least three (3)
minutes, but shall not exceed four (4) minutes.
c. Companies may incorporate props and/or costumes in
their presentation.
d. Those with handheld requirements beforehand (e.g.
rifles for Alpha, and bandages for medics) are not
required to use them, but they are highly encouraged
to do so.
e. Officers shall join their respective companies and
shall act as their guide during the presentation.
f. Companies can opt to go for CREATIVE MARCH or SILENT
DRILL.
2. CREATIVE MARCHING GUIDELINES
a. Companies which opt for CREATIVE MARCHING shall follow
the established standardized commands.
b. Music can be used. Pieces can either be mixed
(maximum of 3 songs) or not.
c. No two companies can have the same song for their
routine. Songs shall be honored in a first come,
first serve basis.
d. There shall be at least 3, and at most 6 formations in
the routine.
e. No commands shall be given during the performance of
the routine under any pretext whatsoever. Whistles
cannot be used during the routine.
f. The choreography for such shall be decent, non-
suggestive, and politically correct.
3. SILENT DRILL GUIDELINES
a. Companies which opt for SILENT DRILL shall follow the
established standardized commands.
b. No music can be used during the presentation.
c. There shall be at least 3, and at most 6 formations in
the routine.
2. d. No oral commands shall be given during the performance
of the routine under any pretext whatsoever. Whistles
may be used when the need arises.
e. The choreography for such shall be decent, non-
suggestive, and politically correct.
4. CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
a. Choreography (50%)

c. Audience Impact (20%)
i. Projection
ii. Expressions
5. GUIDELINES FOR COMPLIANCE
a. Official presentations shall be made on 16 December
2011.
b. Mandatory practice sessions shall be during CAT on the
following dates:
i. 4 November 2011
ii. 18 November 2011
iii. 2 December 2011
c. All personnel may practice outside the dates listed
above, for as long as they secure a permit for such
purpose.
d. A list of songs to be used (for creative marching) and
the name/s of the person/s in charge of the routine
must be submitted to any Staff Officer or the Corps
Commander by the 11th of November 2011.
