It’s been a busy couple of weeks!
And all over my company, people have been working more closely, more effectively and more socially than ever before. By the end of the week, it was time to relax and unwind together.
At our local spot around the corner, I quickly found Betty, Charlie, Maria and
Carlos. They were all swapping stories. I pulled up a chair.
Chapter 1
Why Social Business?
Betty, the “IBM Connections newbie,” was sharing with us how her sales team is virtually unrecognizable from just a few weeks ago. They’re efficient, quick and always one step ahead of their competitors. They’ve embraced social and use IBM Connections to collaborate, build customer trust and create business value.
Chapter 2
Structuring a Brainstorm, the Social Business Way
Not to be outdone, Charlie chimed in, “Well, I’ve taken brainstorming to the next level.” He proudly shared how his team discusses, collaborates and shares ideas all in one place. They’re finding their ideas are reaching further and are retained longer. Because of this, his team feels empowered to deliver better work.
Chapter 3
Developing a Better Network
Maria patted Charlie on the back and added, “If it weren’t for Charlie, I wouldn’t have known about IBM Connections myself.” She shared how IBM Connections helped her implement a new employee mentorship program.
Maria is noticing that employees feel more empowered and engaged. Coworkers are discovering new skillsets and building lasting relationships with mentors.
“And of course,” Maria added, “that led to me meeting Carlos.”
Chapter 4
More Ways to Use Connections
Carlos smiled. He noted how IBM Connections made it easier for him to collaborate with his new team without clogging up his inbox. The integrated calendar and activity stream have improved the ease of his workday immensely.
Over all, IBM Connections helped my colleagues work together better by building:
Empower
My coworkers are collaborating with their workforce and customers, treating others as the unique individuals they are, innovating from just about anywhere.
Trust
We’ve created a trusted collaboration platform, enabling them to work in new ways with all stakeholders including those outside our walls, while protecting the organization.
Engage
Built in social metrics enable us to see trends sooner, innovate faster and engage workforce talent.
We raised our glasses and toasted. “To IBM Connections!” I said happily. After all, that’s the reason we’re all here and celebrating.
