An ideal gas turbine (Brayton cycle) has a net power output of 100 kW. The
working medium is air with T1=30°C, T3 = 750°C, and T4 = 300 °C.
Determine

      (A) The compressor pressure ratio,

      (b) The compressor work (kj/kg),

      (c) The mass flow rate of air (kg/s)

      (d) The thermal efficiency.

while the ambient air temperature is 28⁰C. If specific heat ratio is 1.4 and
pressure ratio is 15, find the following:

      Turbine work
      Compressor work
      Power plant net output work
      Heat input
      Thermal efficiency




A gas turbine power plant with a pressure ratio of 20:1 consumes 6.2 kg/s of
48MJ/kg methane. If specific heat ratio is 1.5 calculate the output power of
this plant.
