Zeus and the Titans for control of the world, which lasted ten years.The result was
that the Titans were banished from heaven and condemned to live in the depths of
the earth.

The Titans appeared for the first time in Hesíodo’s Teogonía ( 7C BC) where he
names and describes the Titans and tells the story of The War of the Titans
which they are famous for nowadays. (verse 617-819).

The first generation of Titans
The original Titans were the 12 children of Uranus and Gaea. They are the siblings of
the Hecatonchires and the Cyclopses. The first 12 children were six male Titans and
six female Titanesses.

The three Cyclopses (Argés,
Brontés and Esteropes),
brothers of the Titans and the
Hecatonchiros, were giants with
only one eye on their forehead,
they were cruel and serious in
nature; but good craftsmen.
They lived high up in the
mountains and had a fire which
was always lit, they forged their
weapons and armour in a huge
volcano.

Cronos and Rea formed the most important couple of the second
generation, as they were both Kings and Gods and had six
children:
Hestia, Goddess of the hearth.
Hera, the Goddess Queen of Olympus.
Hades, God of the Underworld
Demeter, Goddess of farming
Poseidon, God of the oceans.
Zeus, Supreme God, father of the Gods of Olympus.
Infact Zeus himself is a Titan.

It would seem that the boat´s destiny had already been written by Hesodio 2,700 years before the disaster
took place.
