2. What is Flood
• Flood is the water come from rain, river, ocean, then can’t not
go out.
• Discharge- Release or allow to go
• Flash Flood- Audden short lived torrent
• Inundnt- cover or over spead with water
• Overflow- to flow or run out
• Absorb- get in
• River band- two side of river
• Saturate- full
• Capacity- how many thing can hold in
• Water full- steep tall of water, as of a steam, from a height
• Aquifer- undergroud layer of water
3. Causes
• Heavy rain falls for days, building up too much
water for groundwater system to
handle, slowly, the water level begin to rise
and the flood come.

7. supporting evidence
• China is near ocean, and there is river in
China. sometimes flooding can come from
ocean and river.
• South china is close to the equator. Lot of
hurricanes happen near the equator and this
can cause flooding happen.

8. Prevention
• Bunds- large hole on the ground for stop
water
• Reservoirs-storage pond
• Weirs-Separated by a river designed to change
the flooding flow
9. Conclusion
• Flooding is too much water from the river, ocean, and
rain. At south China have many Flood happening every
year, the evident for too many flood, is the weather is
warm, and at my graph China 1991-2010 the flood is
change too much. It is easy to have hurricane, and I see
the people throw many garbage at the drainage
channel At China. This make the drainage channel
broken, this make the water can’t go to ocean and
river. This cause the flood happen. If this pattern
continues for the next 100 years, it would make the
environment became very bad. The water is not clean
because the garbage is everywhere, and everytime
precipitation happen will cause flood.
