The Riyadh Metro project aims to provide a public transportation system for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to address increasing traffic congestion as the population grows. The metro will include over 176 kilometers of rail lines and 85 stations serving major areas of the city. The project was approved in 2012 and is being built through six design-build contracts to complete the entire system within four years, presenting construction challenges but minimizing disruption. Regular progress updates are given and public engagement efforts are helping gain community support for the ambitious project.
