  DESIGN OF THE PLATFORM MONDRAGÓN-EZKIO/ITSASO STRETCH. VITORIA – BILBAO
  -SAN SEBASTIÁN HIGH SPEED RAIL LINE


   Services        Planning, Project and Geotechnics. This project is specially
                   complex due to the particular orography and several platform
                   crossings. Six tunnels of 18.990 meters long were designed, noting
                   Udala and Zumárraga with double pipe, as well as nine viaducts of
                   3.460 meters long

                   three tunnels (Siete Aguas, La Cabrera and Buñol), summarizing 9,528 meters
                   (85% total line). Excavation with TBM and 1,000 meters to a cut and cover
                   tunnel.

                  Two parallel tunnels 8200 m each, excavated by two double-shield TBMs
                 simultaneously to the excavation.; Lining consisting of 7 concrete segment
                 rings prefabricated 32 cm thickness each; Excavation diameter: 9,50 m &
                 free interior diameter: 8,50 m. Both tubes are connected each 400 m by
                 transverse drifts, 20 m length excavated by conventional methods
