Narayana Singh in the year 1978. The Society aims to promote study, teaching and education in
history of mathematical sciences. It provides a forum for exposition of ideas and experiences by way
of organizing periodical national and international meetings/seminars/conferences on the works of
ancient, medieval and modern mathematicians. ISHM has also been bringing out the bulletin Ganita
Bharati ever since its inception. Details on the activities of the Society are available at:
www.indianshm.com
