PERIODONTICS is a faculty of Dentistry which deals
with with the diseases of gums (Gingiva). There is a
three way treatment involving:

5. PERIODONTICS Details
1.Scaling and Polishing-
It is the cleaning of teeth with special vibratory instruments called scalers.
It removes plaque, calculus (Hardened plaque) and stains from the teeth surface
improving the health of gums and preventing decays.
2.PDL Surgeries-
These are required in case of extensive gums and PDL diseases.
A periodontist (specialist) examines the gums and periodontal condition and
decide if any surgical t/t is needed.
3.Implants-
Implants are titanium screws embedded into the bone in order to be used as
substitute for roots for the artificial tooth given to replace missing tooth.

Basic Tips for Healthy Teeth & Gums:

Brush at least twice a day.

Use fluoridated toothpaste.

