• Find them on the networks (Twitter,
  Facebook, MySpace, etc.) and on the
  platforms (YouTube, SoundCloud,
  MixCloud, etc.)

• Start following them
Create

• Create content (songs, blog posts,
  podcasts, videos, photos, etc.)

• Upload to appropriate platforms
• Title, tag and describe your content
• Embed on your blog and Facebook
  page
Share


• Like and share on Facebook
• Tweet through Twitter
• Suggest to your friends
Discuss

• Like and comment on other people’s
  pages and content

• Invite people to comment on your
  content (blog posts, videos, audio
  files, Facebook page, etc.)

• Ask your audience, and your heroes,
  for their opinions and answer their
  questions

• Through discussion, build a
  relationship with your audience

• Find out what they want (i.e. what
  bands are bookers looking for?)

• Research what your competition is
  doing in social media; learn from good
  ideas and avoid bad ones
