Before we begin to move into the realm of restoring your present, you have
to forgive the things that took place in the past. THEN your future can be
on a stronger foundation for recovery. I don’t want you to think that I’m
asking you to go out and have lunch with the person that molested you. Just
because I’m telling you that you need to forgive the people that impaired
your past- doesn’t mean you have to forge a relationship with them. You need
to FORGIVE their actions and then begin to move past what instability those
actions had on your past. If you do not, the BLAME will continue to impair. It
will hinder your trust factor and bear a great burden on every relationship
you enter into. Every relationship. Parental, teacher/student. Pastor/church
member, Co-worker, Coach/athlete- whatever partnership you encounter
will be infected with your ability to trust.
