TOPIC: How to remove blemishes in Photoshop
Description of the Activity
Models in magazines look so perfect, without a single zit in their face. This is not true, not all
models are perfect. Other models have blemishes that are just edited.
In this tutorial removing blemishes in pictures will be discussed. The software that will be used is
Adobe Photoshop. The tutorial will cover how to use the different brushes needed to remove blemishes,
pimples and moles in particular.
Activity Objectives
The objective of this is to help someone hide his/her unwanted blemishes on the skin. This helps
to improve the appearance of the picture; To make the picture as clean, clear, and appealing as possible
while accurately representing the appearance of the person.
Estimated Duration
5-10 Minutes.
Materials Needed
Projector, Computer with Adobe Photoshop
Steps
There are 2 methods that can be used:
1. Spot Healing Brush Tool
-First, open your image in adobe photoshop. Click and hold down the mouse
button on the (healing brush tool), then choose (spot healing brush tool).
-You then need to adjust the size of the brush big enough to encompass the
area of the spot or blemish. Now left click on each spot or blemish and watch them
disappear.
2. Healing Brush Tool
-With your image open, select the (healing brush tool) from the tools
palette. It may be set to (spot healing) so be sure to click and hold the icon shown in
the image below then select (healing brush tool).
-To use the healing brush press (ALT) on your keyboard and click an
unblemished area of skin.
-Adjust the brush size as mentioned in the above method to encompass the
spot or blemish. Simply click on each spot or blemish and watch them disappear.
