The Faculty of Cinematic Arts provides a rigorous and
creative environment for scholarly innovation. Its objective is

13. In addition to supporting and developing its students’
English language skills, the Preparatory School conducts
orientation programs that will help students to adapt to
the academic and social environment of the university,
and nurture the skills necessary for both academic and
social success.
In the Preparatory School, English language courses are
supported by our internationally experienced native
English-speaking instructors. English language learning is
supported by extracurricular activities in an
English-speaking campus environment. Co-curricular and
extracurricular activities are also carried out in an
e-learning environment sustained by advanced
technology, and both the academic and the personal
growth of students are monitored by student advisors.
The Preparatory School provides student-specific solutions
to problems through individual counseling services, and a
continuous learning process is ensured through topic
revisions and co-curricular activities which offer students a
unique and complete educational experience.
With its modern architecture, individual learning center,
study lounges, academic writing center, assessment
center, international testing centers, multimedia centers, a
foreign language library with a unique and rich collection
of resources, and a movie theater showing films only in
English, the Preparatory School offers a modern
educational environment for all students. Teaching will
begin in the 2013-2014 academic year.
PREPARATORY SCHOOL
The Preparatory School prepares students for undergraduate and graduate
academic programs in which the language of instruction is English and
ensures that students acquire proficiency in writing, reading, listening and
speaking. By the end of the preparatory program, students will be equipped
with the English language skills necessary to express themselves and
understand both oral and written language, to interpret correctly, ask
questions, take part in discussions, and make presentations.
14. The Graduate School of Social Sciences coordinates all postgraduate programs
at Ipek University. Along with Masters and Doctorate degrees in the fields such as
Economics, Management, Political Science, History and International Relations,
we will also offer postgraduate degrees in various area studies. Priority
will be given to Middle Eastern Studies, Balkan Studies, Russian Studies and
American Studies programs.
Our programs will start in the 2013-2014 academic year.

The below listed examinations are accepted by Ipek University for undergraduate degree application.
17. The ultimate goal of Ipek University is to accept most of its students
through scholarships.All scholarships awarded are unrequited and
continuous for seven years - two years of preparatory studies and five
years of undergraduate studies. Students’ eligibility for scholarships
will continue for internal transfers between departments.
FULL SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarships awarded to students under the full scholarship program
include a 500 TL monthly stipend for nine months each year in
addition to exemption from tuition and accommodation fees.
HALF SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarships awarded to students under the half scholarship program
include a 50% discount on tuition and accommodation fees.
Students who have graduated from a high school, lyceum or other
institution equivalent to a Turkish high school and who meet the
following criteria may apply:
1. Citizens of a country other than the Republic of Turkey or Turkish
Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
2. Those who, although citizens of the Republic of Turkey by birth,
have renounced this citizenship and their children displaying their
rights entitled by Law No. 5203.
3. Citizens of Turkey who completed their high school education in
another country (excluding TRNC).
4. Citizens of TRNC who reside in TRNC and have completed their
secondary education in a GCE AL system.
5. Those with dual citizenship, of which one country is the Republic
of Turkey, and who have completed their high school education in
another country (excluding TRNC).
6. Those who are citizens of another country by birth but have since
acquired citizenship of the Republic of Turkey.
MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS
Non-scholarship students who attain an average of 3.70 or above
out of 4 grade points in one academic year are eligible for a merit
scholarship, consisting of a discount in tuition fees for the following
year depending on the quota determined by the Board of Trustees.
SPECIAL SCHOLARSHIPS
These are offered to national athletes, artists and students with
disabilities. The scholarship amount will be determined by the Board
of Trustees and announced at the beginning of each academic year.

POSTGRADUATE MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS
These scholarships are awarded to top-scoring graduates from Ipek
University for the purpose of pursuing their postgraduate studies
abroad. The duration and quota for this scholarship will be
determined by the Board of Trustees.
The tuition fee for Ipek University in the 2013-2014 academic year
is 25 000 TL (approx.14 000 USD) including VAT
(Value Added Tax).
Rent assistance will be given to full scholarship students who choose
not to use accommodation offered by the University.
Ipek University guarantees that all students may be accommodated
in university halls of residence either for free or for a rental fee
