Sir Syed Ahmed Khan

2. 
 Sir Syed was born on 17 October 1817 in Delhi.
Syed Ahmed’s father name was Mir Muttaqi. He died
when Syed Ahmed was about 21 years of age.
 His family was highly regarded by the Mughal
dynasty.

 Sir Syed received his education under the old system
prevailing at that time.
 He learnt to read the holy Quran under a female
teacher at his home.
 After this, Maulvi Hamidud Din became his private
tutor.
 He was also intrested Persian, Arabic and
mathematics.

 At the age of 19 his formal education came to an end
but he continued his studies privately.
 He start the job of clerk in the East India Company in
1938.
After the three years he qualified as a sub-judge and
served in the judicial department at various places.

 The war of 1857 had ended in disaster espaceily for
Muslims.
 The British ruler crashed Muslims in every field of
life.
Education facilities was entirely closed for Muslims.
 That time Sir Syed Ahmed khan held the Muslims.

 He wanted to create a scientific temperament among
the Muslims of India and to make the modern
knowledge of Science available to them.
 He began establishing schools, at Muradabad in 1858
where Persian and English was tought.
In 1863 he established another school at Ghazipur

 He also founded a scientific society in 1864.
 It`s task was to translate the English books into Urdu
and persian.
This was done to make english books easier to
peaple to understand.

 On 24 may,1874 M.A.O High school was established
at Aligarh.
 In 1877 the school was upgraded to a college.
 The college was open for Muslim and non- Muslim
students who came from all part of country.

 Sir Syed Ahmad Khan set up Muslim educational
Conference in 1886.
 In 1920 after the death of Sir Syed Ahmad khan the
college grew into the Aligurh Muslim University.

 Sir Syed was a government civil servant as well as a
scholar. The following are his important works:
‘‘ASBAB-E-BAGHAWAT-E-HIND’’
‘’ASARUS SANADEED’’ ‘’TEHZIB-UL-AKHLAQ’’ etc.

 I think he was a great Muslim leader. He was died in
27 march 1898.
 The Muslim lost their great leader. May Allah bless
his soul.
