‘‘No culture can live if it
attempts to be exclusive.’’

Mahatma Gandhi

What makes Malaysia unique is actually the varied cultures of the different
people. Morning market is a very local location where you can understand more
about this multi-cultural society.
Culture without colours is bored and unimaginable.
No matter which part of the world you turn to, the colors continue to weave a
path of sheer artistry throughout the culture.

A simple floor plan is provided for each market.
A coloured box is to show you the location.

Brown colour reminds me of earth colour.
These few colours tend to be dark and cozy in outlook.
Their warm tones work well with the light in the dry market.
Black and white can dismiss easily from the fish stalls.
Somehow, the fishmongers arrange the fishes
according to the hue of colour.

Went there on a holiady.
It's a over 25 years old indoor wet market .
Around 268 stalls are located in this doublestories market.

The way they arrange the fruits is catching my attention.
It's more orderly compare to the outdoor market.
The reflection of light brings out the colour of every fruit.
The owner makes a good use of the space.
The baskets are used to distingush the vegetables.
The purple cabbages show a high contrast between the green.
The purple has strong hues to catch my eyes.

The peach colour reflects the light and become white.
White looks clean and beautiful under most lights.
The black, white and grey may lack strong colour,
but I love the clarity produced by these sharp and clear tones.

This wet market is called after the district
Chow Kit.
It's not so busy when I arrive at 1pm.
The narrow walkways are wet and covered by

Chow Kit’s dry market is different from others.
I can get the colourful snacks at most of the stalls.
The brown colour is calm and stable.
Brown doesn’t shout its presence
but do provide a sense of wellbeing.
Those dried fishes have a pungent smell.

The stall is decorated by a simple grey and brown.
Grey works well when displaying with other stronger earth colour.
