• Project started in July 2006.
• Water Resources considered to be non-renewable
• Countries (Chad, Egypt, Libya and Sudan)
cooperating over the past 4 decades
• Expressed interest in regional cooperation
• Challenge acquire-sufficient knowledge about
existing resources within the Nubian Aquifer
• 1997-2002 IFAD and CEDARE conducted
concluded socio-economic survey resulting in the
Regional Information System (NARIS).
