2. MR. HWANG SOON HUAT
BIOGRAPHYMr. HWANG SOON HUAT has 34 years of working
experience in civil and structural engineering field. He is
very hardworking, a responsible person and is very
passionate with his job. Most of the projects involved by
Mr. Hwang are big and majestic projects. Examples,
Dayabumi Complex, Shah Alam Stadium, Lot 10, The
Starhill Gallery, Capital Square, Berjaya Central Park
which is still under construction and etc.
Based on Mr. Hwang’s advice, one must have passion for
the job that you work so that you will be happy and achieve
the satisfaction of the job that you have done. He also
manage to balance the time between work and family, so he
can spend quality time with his family and enjoy working.
Mr. Hwang also said that he feels satisfied and happy for
involving in the construction field especially when seeing
the completion of the project from the sub-structure stage.

4. CIVIL ENGINEERING
Civil engineering is a field of engineering science and it is related to
design, construction and maintenance of buildings, dams, bridges,
tunnels and highways by the use of physical laws, mathematical
equations and theories of mechanics. It is actually the mother of all
engineer with sub-categories of geotechnical engineer, structural
engineer, transportation engineer, water resource engineer,
environmental engineer, earthquake engineer and urban planning
engineer.
Civil engineers utilize the available resources such as expertise,
materials and manpower to complete the project within the given
time span while keeping in view of time, expenditure, environmental
issues and physical hazards of project.
Civil engineers work on the project by first understanding the
problems they are faced with, then design a process consist of finding
solutions to those problems. It is the civil engineer’s responsible to
ensure the resulting structure is safe to live, play and work.
5. STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING
It is a branch of civil engineer which deals with large modern buildings
and similar structures. They design, construct and also maintain
structures like bridges, roads, canals, dams and buildings. They can
work in private construction companies, governmental public work
organization or universities as research fellow or lecturer. They also can
be a surveyor, technical report writer and project manager.
Structural engineers are specialist in design, construction, repair,
conversion and conservation. They are the key part of design and
construction team while working alongside civil engineers and architects.
They create all kind of structures such as houses, theatres, sports
stadium, hospitals, bridges, oil ridges and space satelites.
As a conclusion, structural engineers enjoy a challenge, responsibility
and excitement of an innovative and varied career. They present both
creative and technical challenges which requires excellent problem
solving skills.
