Contents page analysis
1. Kerrang
The codes and conventions of this kerrang music magazine are; there is still main title in
the top corner of the page and naturally we read from the top left hand side so this is to
immediately inform the reader of the contents page and the individuality of the title is to
show that kerrang is the only one with that title and that colour scheme. The throughout
colour scheme of the page is what I would associate with rock culture and the way that
the masthead kerrang! Is placed centre page I think is to give the reader an essence of
the feature articles whilst this week is included.
There is a main image to try and attract an audience so they don't get bored of reading
great lumps of text, there are also smaller added images so the text looks smaller and
that there is less of it.
Rock sound magazine
A very basic contents page that has a split page
between images and text this is to separate the two
parts but link them with page numbers. There is no title
on this page apart from a smaller contents subtitle the
largest text is a feature big news article on page 70.
There is also a very basic colour scheme that sticks to a
red white and black scheme, except from the images
there is no other colours on the page. There is a slogan
in the top right that is to show that rock sound is the
best that is 'music with attitude'.
2. NME
This magazines codes and
conventions are very basic it's
a basic simple colour scheme
with a main feature article that
takes up a large proportion of
the page. There is an add at
the bottom of the page that's
offering a 33% subscription
sale and that it's offering more
magazines to the audience
this is an opposite colour
scheme so it stands out to the
audience and attract their
attention
Q
This contents page is 70% image and 30% text because the main image is a feature
article and will be a widely known band that have a major article that the magazine feel
3. they need to project because it will attract an audience. It is a very basic layout of the
magazine that dosnt have an individual change to it.
