Dear Sir / Madam,
Re: Rotary Club Of Bukit Kiara Sunrise’s Education Fund
The Rotary Club of Bukit Kiara Sunrise (RCBKS) has been in active community service
since its formation in 1992. For the past 17 years, Rotarians of RCBKS have been providing
assistance to the community through varied projects relating to health, hunger, literacy,
vocational assistance, drug abuse, etc. which afflict the underprivileged sector of our society.
Key projects are outlined below:
1. providing annual free medical screening and medication to the poor living in rural
areas since 2006;
2. providing financial assistance to children in Malaysia whose parents have died from
AIDS under our Malaysian Grandma Cares project ;
3. providing financial assistance and festive cheers to the underprivileged - old folks,
orphans, the chronic poor and the disabled annually;
4. raising funds for a matching grant to provide meals for poor students who cannot
afford to buy lunch at school.
RCBKS recognises the importance of our youth and the provision of a sound holistic
education to develop them into mature virtuous individuals. Having identified that where post
secondary students who proceed to tertiary education or vocational training are able to apply
for loans, there is little opportunities for needy students who are still pursuing their
secondary students to seek financial assistance. In view of this, RCBKS is setting up an
Education Fund to assist secondary school students from poor families to complete their
secondary education.
The focus of the RCBKS Education Fund is to support the education of underprivileged
youths aged mainly between 15-19 years who are currently in Form 3 to Form 6 or in a
vocational training program. The fund aims to nurture and develop underprivileged youths
who desire to “help themselves” into becoming useful members of society by providing them
with education opportunities, leadership training and values education. The vision of the
RCBKS Education Fund is to “make a difference to young lives by helping those who want to
help themselves.”
To enable us to carry out the project successfully, we need contributions, both in cash and in
kind. We thus appeal to you/your organisation to contribute towards this deserving cause by
taking up an advertisement in the Souvenir Programme for our Charity Fund Raising dinner
on 14 November 2009. Please complete the Confirmation Form attached together with
2. payment and we will be in touch with you shortly.
