Personal Statement
Press play. The art of sound fills and produces harmony and expression of emotion and my body reacts.
Trained to work hard and excel. Point your toes as you dance across the floor. You must give it all you
got tonight. I let go. After all my training, the motions come like second nature. I started dancing
from an early age. It has been an unparalleled substance that has helped develop and strengthen the
person I am today. I have always felt that life is a dance. We press play life begins; through
experiences we see the good, the bad, and the ugly. We react the best way we know how, the way
we’ve been taught by professor or experience. As our life goes on we move across the floor trying to
move up in the world, seeking success and self- actualization. Growing up I always knew I would continue
my education as no one in my family has done. I always aspired to be someone in the world and make a
difference. At first, I decided I would study Criminal Justice but shortly after discovering psychology,
my heart truly was inspired and developed a new view of the world and all I could do in it. After
completing my Bachelor’s degree and some much needed research, I have found the perfect career that
will enable me to open doors for others as well as myself. I seek the joy and fulfillment of a Career of
service that will help generations to come aspire to be creative and contribute to society. A Master of
Arts in Human resources would allow me to work with people who are in need of direction and support.
My creativity, empathy, passion and diversity are vital skills that not everyone has. It takes a special
person to work with employees and help everyone get a fair chance in life. I believe if I gain admission
to a graduate program I could establish myself, receive the proper education and be that person.
Business and Psychology is an ever growing career, constantly changing and demanding. Not only am I
dedicated to keeping up with new knowledge and techniques, I have ambition to create a world where
students grow and reach new heights.
I am looking forward to the dynamic experience of a deep immersion in the study of business
strategies, employee compensation, and the sales diagnosis and prevention of problems. In the past, I
have been involved in providing customer service at Rockport shoe company in Orlando, Florida. I have
very much enjoyed the richness that comes from being involved with my peers so that I can help them to
succeed. I am especially drawn to those of ethnically and culturally diverse backgrounds and the way
that they serve to enrich our company to grow. I am fluent in English and Spanish being as I personally
am of Hispanic and Irish decent. America is melting pot of people from all over the world being diverse
is a great upper hand to encourage children to thrive in a place where they might feel different.
I feel strongly that I am a well-qualified candidate who has much to offer in terms of being
able to reach out and assist young people in need of direction. I look forward to helping employees and
their families to better understand the enormous opportunities that are available, how to make choices
from the heart as well as the mind, connecting passions with capabilities and thinking optimistically as
well as pragmatically about available alternatives for the employees future. We all have our dance, if

Reflection

During my academic venture at Argosy University I have struggled, learned, exceeded and
thrived. From my first day there was never a bitter moment I loved everything I have learned
even when I struggled because I believe it has made me a better person. I have discovered
new ways of thinking, how to apply theory’s and conduct and develop new research and
how to test research from the past. Although when I first came to argosy I had little
knowledge of is research methods I’m proud to say I have learned and significantly
improved. In this last chapter of my academic career I have come to note that everything
works together cognitive abilities research understanding people and diversity and applying
the knowledge I’ve learned. I feel I have had significant and extensive exposure to all
aspects of psychology and will exceed expectation anywhere life my take me.

Critical Thinking: The bystander effect

I believe the bystander effect includes many psychological principles. Conformity
can play a part when a situation happens with others around. When people get
together, we might follow what others are doing, instead of going off on our own
and doing what we think is right. When it comes to the bystander effect I believe
it’s a combination of fear, uncertainty and everyone else’s actions that affect us
    along with other psychological principles.
Cognitive dissonance also can be defined as a part of the bystander effect.
Cognitive dissonance “is the state of conflict someone experiences after making
a decision, taking an action, or being exposed to information that is contrary to
prior beliefs, feelings, or values.”(Argosy, 2011) When a person is presented
with a stranger laying on the floor and everyone passing by in my eyes there is
a conflict between what your brain tells you to do and what you see others
doing. It can be difficult for someone who is bypassing a situation to assume the
responsibility if another person does not assume to it first (diffusion of
responsibility). Diffusion of responsibility would never happen if a person was
alone, therefore it directly involved with the bystander effect.

Critical Thinking: Validity in an experiment

My study asks whether or not music evokes certain emotions. My experiment places
participants driving a car that is watched by an experiment administrator
and project manager by camera and measures each person’s reaction to each
type of music, classical, heavy metal, jazz, hip hop.

Communication

Psychology is much more than disorders and doctors asking how do you feel
                                  today?

I've created a presentation to discover and uncover the truths
about hoarding and how if effects society and people.

             Professional Recommendations
To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is my personal recommendation for Janisse Acevedo. Until just recently, I have been Janisse’s
immediate supervisor for several years. I found her to be consistently pleasant, tackling all assignments
     with dedication and a smile.

Besides being a joy to work with, Janisse is a take-charge person who is able to present creative ideas and
communicate the benefits. She has successfully developed several marketing plans for our company that
has resulted in increased revenue. Though she was an asset to our marketing efforts, Janisse was also
extraordinarily helpful in other areas of the company. In addition to writing effective training modules for
sales representatives, Janisse assumed a leadership role in sales meetings, inspiring and motivating other
     employees.

I highly recommend Janisse for employment. She is a team player and would make a great asset to any
     organization.

My Future in Learning

When I think about the future I feel
almost positive I will test theories and
standards. I have never been a person to
simply accept “what is” because to me
nothing is set in stone we all make choices
I feel lead us to the oaths we go down in
life. In my future I plan to stay educated
and updated as my field demands. My
future motivates me to discover new
things, research the unknown and question
