  • 2. WHAT CAN TRIGGER PLANNING? “With funding cuts, our financial situation looks very tight to continue the way we do now.” “The rules are changing. Donors want to see measurable outcomes. And competition for fund support is stiffer.” “Situation is rapidly changing for the worse. Our best efforts do not seem to yield the results we want and things are not improving.”
  • 3. “People are approaching us with different new program opportunities. We need to decide which ones to pursue and how much growth we can handle.” “Our funder is encouraging us to develop a strategic plan. With so much work at the moment, how do we go about this?” “We’re being criticized for not having focus and not being responsive to needs of our clients.” “The last time we did strategic planning in our organization, it was a nightmare!”
