Support Group for Pet Loss
A program offered by “Joy in the Mourning”® Center for Life Losses
If you have experienced the death or disappearance of a pet, or have had to put a pet to sleep, this support
group is designed just for you. Our pets become members of our families and are often our best friends. They
love us unconditionally, and when they die or disappear, sometimes we are surprised at the depth of sadness
and emptiness we feel. This group offers a place where you and others who are grieving the loss of a pet will
discover you are not alone in your grief and where you can begin to heal as you share with one another your
experiences and memories of your special friend.
When: 1st Tuesday of each month from 7-8:30p.m.
Where: St. Stephens Lutheran Church
119 N. Church Street, Lexington, SC 29072
Cost: Free of charge. No pre-registration required.
*This group is fully funded by Cherokee Trail Veterinary Hospital and Lake Murray Animal Hospital as a Community Service.
Call 413-2199 if you can’t find us or if you can’t get in when you arrive!
For more information about this group, call 407-3185 to learn more about the
Center for Life losses, visit our website:

Directions: St. Stephens Lutheran church is located in downtown Lexington and fills much of the city block bounded by Main Street,

between Main Street and Highway 6. Tum offChurch Street onto Butler Street (runs between the church and the cemetery). Park anywhere
along either side ofthe road, beside the cemetery or the church building. We will meet in the educational building closest to (and connected
to) the sanctuary. This portion ofthe building juts out closer to the street just past the sanctuary. There is a streetlight almost directly across
the street from the entrance we use. There is also a sign there that bears the words: “Sanctuary”, “Classrooms”, and “Preschool Office” at

Lexington County Chronicle
& The Dispatch-News Help open the doors to the Chris Myers' Children's Place
Why The Book of Love?
Josh Thorp
No child should ever fee1like they are unwanted or
unloved. With a physical book of every single person
who made this dream a reality, any child or individu-
al can turn through the pages of the Book of Love and
see the names of everyone who loves them enough to
make a contribution to make the dream of Chris My-
ers' Place a reality.
Your name will be put in The Book of Love with
any donation of $1 or more.
and What is The Book of Love?
The Book of Love is a physical binding of every
single name of individuals, businesses, churches and
organizations who donated anything to making the
Chris Myers’ Children Place
Chris Myers' Children's Place possible. Whether the
donation is $1 or $100,000; the names are recog-
nized.
Why Chris Myers' Place?
Chris Myers' Children's Place will be an established
children's facility to house children whose mothers
are unable to take care of them. This could be a tem-
porary basis until the mother can obtain employment
and is able to take care of the children, or permanent-
ly in cases where the mothers never become able to
nurture or to provide for the children.
These are houses that will become homes for these
children where they not only receive the necessities
of life, but share their life stories, make new friends,
have the security of loving house parents who are
there and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week;
where every aspect of the child is cared for: physical,
mental, emotional, and spiritual.
Help us make this dream a reality!
There are many ways you can help. Financial donations are much needed. The following levels of donation are available, however anything that you can give; whether it be
time, monetary gifts, prayers, or supplies will be greatly appreciated. Have your name printed in the Book of Love!
