2. Background Information. 1992-2000. Fox animation was a short-lived animation production company. It was a division of 20th Century Fox, headed by Don Bluth and Gary Goldman. The company produced only three films (Anastasia [1997], Bartok the Magnificent [1999] and Titan A.E [2000]).

3. The department was designed to compete again Walt Disney Feature Animation, which at the time was already a great success after the release of Tarzan. The two movies Anastasia and Titan A.E made only $9,376,845 in it's opening weekend - on the budget of about $75,000,000. The studio was shut down as a result. Today, Blue Sky Studios run for 20th Century Fox.

5. Institution Conventions 20th Century Fox now creates and hosts popular animations on TV. All of which are comedies. The episodes are reflections of recent events happening in the world or popular tabloid rumors. Each character in each TV series has a typical or stereotypical personality (e.g. Peter Griffin is a lazy husband, who loves money, beer, sex.etc)

7. Characters Peter Griffin has a thick Rhode Island accent, has a child’s mind, and never realizes he is doing something wrong. He is unintelligent. His favorite pastime is watching the television - another stereotype of a blue-collar worker. He is also married to Lois, who comes from a wealthy family. Which contradicts to his status. Hence a comedy. Each family member has stereotypical characteristics. Peter Griffin is the central protagonist of Family Guy.
