4. Logo development and
justification (2)
These logos are very much like the original logo by
channel 4. In this you can see that we have changed
the background colour of the logo by using a
different pictures in each section to express vibrancy
throughout the channel.
By changing it we started with one picture then
developing it to add more of a unique style. After
that we erased some of it in a zebra like Patten to
add more of an original look to the logo.
5. Corporate identityExplain Corporate Design
(logos/colours etc)
Ident's are continuously changing and
adapting the texture and colour to the
surrounding environment it is in.
Corporate Design is the official design
of the logo used on things such as
letterheads, brochures or in this case in
the adverts.
Corporate Design for a channel
involves what an audience will see with
the logo, colour, font. With Channel 4
they use a 4 and use it in either black or
white depending on what the
background is of what they are showing
(the colour will never change). In the
Channel 4 design specification, there is
a lot about how they should portray the
logo and how it shouldn't be used. For
example: The Channel 4 logo has been
designed to reproduce at a minimum
height of 10mm. Corporate Design is
important because it helps to let the
audience recognize the channel they are
advertising.
We think our logo is very
good because it still links in
with the corporate design. I.e.
the colours and font style.
Channel 4 doesn’t have a
specific colour that they use
as they have a colour chart of
optional colours that can be
used. With our logo you can
see that we have kept to the
colours in the colour chart but
used them all for the
expressive effect.
6. Final Logo
We chose this logo
because we feel that it is
original, this lets you see
thought the eye of
channel 4. By using the
colour in the eye, it shows
vibrancy throughout the
channel to make you
think that there is a ‘wide
eye’ of programming.
