How To Stain a Wood Fence
1.
2. Clean The Fence
The first step to staining a wood fence is to make sure the
wood fence is free of dirt, stains, flaking paint and any
other materials that could prevent proper stain
penetration.
If the fence has spots of mold and mildew, consider using
the Infinity Wood Cleaner. The Infinity Wood Cleaner
will remove mold, mildew, rust and tannin stains. If the
fence does not have mold, mildew and rust stains but
appears to be weathered, consider using the Infinity
Wood Brightener. The Brightener will remove years of
weathering and open up the pores to allow the stain to
penetrate deeper.
3. Stain The Fence
When you stain a fence, you dye the wood. Stains do
not offer any protection and will fade within 1-5
years. A better alternative to wood stains is to use
the Infinity Wood Sealer. The Infinity Wood Sealer is
available in 16 different colors. It will protect the
fence from damaging UV rays (SPF75), the growth of
mold and mildew, wood destroying insects, cupping
and cracking. The results of the Infinity Wood Sealer
are guaranteed for 25 years.
4. How To Stain A Fence
Coverage: 1 gallon of the Infinity Wood Sealer will cover up to 600-800 FT².
Suggested Uses: Infinity Wood Sealer can be used on all types of wood including hard,
soft, native and exotic. Can also be used on plywood, particle board and Bamboo.
Surface Preparation: Before applying Infinity Wood Sealer, ensure that the surface is clean
and the wood is free of mill glaze and dry. For best results, consider using the Infinity
Wood Cleaner to clean the wood and the Infinity Wood Brightener to open up the surface
pores and allow for deeper sealer penetration.
Color Option: The Infinity Wood Sealer will dry clear. If you choose to add an Infinity
Wood Tint, the tint can be added to the sealer prior to application. Suggested mix ratio is
1 container of Infinity Wood Tint to 1 Gallon of Infinity Wood Sealer. Mix thoroughly
until the tint is completely blended into the sealer. Adding tint will provide the wood
with an increased UV protection of 75 SPF.
Application: Using a low pressure sprayer, brush or roller, liberally apply the Infinity
Penetrating Wood Sealer until the wood can no longer accept any additional liquid.
