Cooling Stations
As a solution to the brutal
Texas heat, United Way of
Brazoria County and ActionS,
Inc. of Brazoria County have
partnered with the Brazoria
County Library System to
create cooling stations
throughout the county, taking
place now through Sept. 30.
Cooling stations provide an air-
conditioned environment
where residents can escape
the heat.
Dear ,
Our apologies for not sending a newsletter last month; we hope you
didn't miss us that much! From flooding to rising temperatures, June
was one for the books. Our neighbors are struggling right now and
we've been working hard at UWBC to connect them to resources
throughout the community. This newsletter highlights those efforts
and the caring power of this community. Thank you!
2016 Brazos River Flooding
The Brazos River flooding in June deeply affected areas throughout Brazoria
County. It was a dark period for many of our neighbors, one that has not
ended for some, but the response of this community has been
overwhelming and helpful. Volunteers stepped forward and donations
poured in. The generosity of companies, organizations and individuals alike
has made recovery much more attainable.
We still have a mountain to climb to get people back on their feet.We are
making every effort to keep the community informed of what we're doing
and and who we're working with to solve issues. We ask that over the next
few months, please check in from time to time at our Flood Recovery
2. Brazoria County Connect

the area. Donated box fans and
AC units can help battle the
summer months and maintain
the health of our community.
The Cool Deal Fan Club serves
families and individuals who
lack this essential by providing
a fan or AC unit.
Please help our Community
Partners, ActionS, Inc. and
