The program is delivered by an extensive integrated network of 240 professionals in 100 communities across the country. Working directly with clients, NRC-IRAP supports their innovative research and development and helps them become commercialization-ready with their new products and services. Medicago - Québec, Quebec Quebec's high-tech alfalfa Medicago have developed a process whereby thousands of alfalfa plants have become living factories producing biotherapeutic molecules. IRAP helped the young company prepare its plan, provided assistance for the license negotiation and financial contributions to evaluate the viability of the technologies for converting vegetable material and to develop those technologies. BTI Photonic Systems Inc. - Ottawa, Ontario Bridging the gap for high speed data services BTI offers telecom carriers a product called Netstender to deal with the amplification, dispersion, and management of optical signals. IRAP assisted BTI with projects such as the development of erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFA) and fiber Bragg grating (FBG) dispersion compensators and provided technical and business advisory services.
