5.Wait patiently for Mr. Peters to begin
class.
3. End of the Hour
1.Put your Interactive Notebook
away.
2.Return any borrowed pencils &
erasers.
3.Return to your assigned seat.
4.Wait for Mr. Peters to release
you.
4. Class Discussions
1.Raise your hand.
2.Wait to be called on.
3.Share your idea, feelings, or
opinions in a positive way without
attacking the ideas of your peers.
4.Allow everyone to have a turn in
the discussion.
5. Collecting “In Class” Work
a. Starting with the student on the
far left of the room.
b. Hand your paper to the person to
your right.
c. Continue until the student on the
far right of the row has all papers
for their row.
6. Working in Support Groups
a. You are responsible for your group job
and the results of the whole group.
b. If you have a question, ask your
Support Buddies.
c. You must be willing to help if a support
buddy asks you for help.
d. You may ask for help from the teacher
after the entire group agrees on a
question.
7. Checking Out a Textbook
a. Come to the classroom after school.
b. Get a textbook from the “Books to
Checkout” area.
c. Bring the book to the teacher.
d. The teacher will record that you have
the book and you may take it home.
e. Return the book directly to the
teacher.
8. Moving About the Room
Remain seated at your desk unless:
a. The teacher
gives you
permission
to get up.

9. Bathroom Breaks
Your human need to use the bathroom
will not be denied.
a.Raise your hand and wait for the teacher
to acknowledge you or come to you.
b.Fill out the “Bathroom Break” form.
c.Take the “Bathroom Break” pass and
wear around neck.
d.One student out at a time.
10. School Announcement / Phone Call
a. The teacher will stop instruction if
directly involved.
b. The teacher will answer the phone
unless a student is told to instead.
c. Continue working on your
assignment or review the notes you
have been given.
11. Turning in Work
a. There are trays located next to the
teacher’s desk.
b. Each one is labeled with a different
hour.
c. Place your homework or assignment
in your hour’s tray.
12. Monitoring Classroom Noise
a. A traffic signal is used to
remind students of the noise
level.
b. RED = Silent or No Talking
c. YELLOW = Whisper or “6 Inch
Voice”
d. GREEN = Indoor Voice
13. Absent From Class
a. Go to the “Weekly Assignment Box”
located by the classroom door.
b. Hanging Files: Monday – Friday
c. Locate the file for the day you were
absent from class and take copies of
the assignment.
d. Check with the teacher if you are
unsure how to complete it.
