Full Potential Show Episode 3:
Determining Your Vision and Values
(continued from Episode 2 – Best Practices for “Getting Stuff Done”)

But now I want to dive in a little bit more and show you how to go through each one of these
areas to really map it out properly, okay? So, let’s dive in and do this.

Alright, so the first thing is in vision. What is your vision? Let’s define that. For me, a vision
that’s really juicy is that I have, I am, on a daily basis, I’m creating extraordinary videos for the
Full Potential show. And that’s what this is, it’s a product of that vision. But what does that
translate into as far as an actual vision for the show? Well, my vision for the show is - it’s going
to be the number one, personal development show on the internet. That’s my vision for the
show.

Now, I want to point something out that might be a little subtle but I want to make it clear. My
primary vision is something I control. It’s something I control, and that is to create
extraordinary videos on a daily basis. Nobody else can control that, I do. Now, my secondary
goal, or vision in this case, is that I’m going to have the number one, personal development
show on the internet. Now, I don’t necessarily control that. A product of creating extraordinary
videos is that it will become popular, and it will get a lot of people to come and watch the show
and participate. Eventually, it will become the number one show, but it won’t unless I’m
creating extraordinary videos and focusing on my number one goal. Again, goals and vision are
relatively similar, but you’ll see the difference in a minute. So, my vision is something I control.
That’s very important because if it’s something you don’t control, then it’s something that will
elude you. It’s something you can hope for, you can wish for, but, unless it’s something you can

actively control on a daily basis, then you’re not really in control of your destiny. I hope that
makes sense, because it’s a powerful lesson.

Now, my values are going to be in direct alignment with my vision. And by the way, can I come
up with a vision for different areas in my life? Absolutely. And what areas of my life can I come
up with a vision for? I have six main areas of life that I create visions for. For the purpose of
planning and keeping it simple, just start with your work vision. Or your vision for your life:
what you’re doing with your life, what your passionate about. But I also create visions for the
six main areas of my life that go along with that. What are those six areas, you might ask? I’m so
glad you asked that. The six main areas are: your physical, your mental, your spiritual, your
social, your emotional and your financial well-being. And what all that means is:

Physically, you have a vision for your life at the highest level. What does that look like?

Mentally, you have a vision for what you feel, what your mental space feels like, what
your mental space is organized like, how intellectually challenged you are. You have a
       vision for that.

Spiritually, you have a vision for that. How aligned you are with the universe. Even if you
are questioning and you’re still curious about the afterlife, or whatever. You have a
vision for what level you’re at. It’s usually more than where you’re at today. It’s always a
little bit of a gap because it causes you to seek that growth. So, physically, mentally,
       spiritually…

Socially. You know. Your level of confidence. Your level of ability to communicate. What
       are your visions socially?

Emotionally, how fulfilled, how motivated, how driven, how excited you are. What is
       your vision emotionally? And ,

Financially, that’s an easy one, right? Your lifestyle. What does it look like? What are you
able to do? What options do you have? How empowered are you financially?

So, creating a compelling vision is going to allow you to complete this process. So, just start
with the first thing that comes to mind that you’re really excited about, the first area that you
really want to work on for the purpose of this show. Then later you can go back and do it for
each one of the other visions that you might have, alright? Just do this process, please. It’s
going to be really life transforming if you go through this with me.

                               Determining Your Vision and Values
Now, the values are incredibly important. The values are what drive your operating system,
okay? What that means is, you have an operating system for the way that you behave in life.
And whether you realize it or not, every behavior you have is dictated by your value system.
What is a value system? It’s basically what you value in life, what you determine has high value
in life. Now, it could be money. It could be your family. It could be freedom. It could be love. It
could be health. It’s a variety of things that make up life. You have categorized them and you
have ranked them without even realizing it. But you’re driven by each one of these values and
they dictate how you use your time. If this is the first time of getting clear on your values, you
might actually want to write down what you truly value, because sometimes there’s a
difference between how you’re actually living your values and what you truly value in life. And
we’re going to get real clear about that so that the tasks and stuff that we’re working on are the
things that we truly value and just aren’t things we do because we “have to” for survival. Or if
we don’t do them that something bad is going to happen. So, you have your “lived values” and
then you have your values that you truly want to incorporate into your life. This isn’t complex,
okay? So far, we’ve just got a vision for your life in one area. The second thing is we’ve kind of
mapped out our values, because it’s really good to get clear on what we truly value versus how
we’re simply living our life now.
