2. Our Heart
• Stethoscope: Used to
check the heart. A healthy
heart pumps blood to all
the vital organs. A heart in
trouble is a painful thing,
and when the heart goes
bad, life stops.
• *DO you have a heart that
beats for God?
3. Our Heart
• Psalms 19:14. Let the words of my
mouth, and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord.
• Proverbs 12:25 Heaviness in the
heart weighs a man down . . .
• *Proverbs 3:1-5. My son; do not
forget my teaching, but let your heart
keep my commandments.
4. Our Blood
• Syringe: Used to draw blood
for the blood test. This is
Debbie's occupation by trade.
She would take samples of a
patients blood, and look for
things that shouldn't be in
there.
*Is the blood of Christ
coursing through your
veins?
5. Our Blood
• Acts 20:28: … Shepherd the
church of God which He purchased
with His own blood.
• Romans 3:25 quot;We are justified
through the shed blood of Christ.quot;
• Rev. 1:5 quot;He has washed us from
our sins with His own blood.quot;
6. Our Temperature
• Thermometer: This is used to
check a person's temperature.
If someone's temp is too low,
that is unhealthy. If it is too
high, it can be very dangerous,
even fatal. The body should
remain at the same
temperature in a healthy
person; on the warm side!
• *Is there a warmth in your
spirit for the people of God?
7. Our Temperature
• Rev 3:15-16. Would that you were
hot or cold.
• I Thess 5:19 quot;Quench not the
Spirit.quot;
• We should fan the flames of God's
Spirit within us and stay on fire for
the Lord.
8. Our Sensitivity
• Reflex Hammer: This is
used to determine if the
proper neural response is
seen. They tap the knee,
and see if their is a
reaction. A healthy person
has a certain level of
sensitivity.
• *How sensitive are we to
the touch of God's
Spirit?
9. Our Sensitivity
• John 16:13: But when the Spirit
of truth comes, He will guide you
into all the truth; for He will not
speak on His own initiative, but
whatever He hears, He will speak;
and He will disclose to you what is
to come.
• Psalm 18:44: As soon as they
hear of me, they shall obey.
10. Our Vision
• Eye Chart: How could we
have a check up without
the eye chart? We have to
focus on the little things,
notice the big things, and
be clear about what they
say!
• *How is your Spiritual
Vision?
11. Our Vision
Matt 6:22-23: The lamp of the body
is the eye; if therefore your eye is
clear, your whole body will be full of
light. But, if your eye is bad, your
whole body will be full of darkness.
• John 4:35 quot;Lift up thine eyes and
look into the fields, that they are
white for harvest. (Do we see
things the way Jesus does)?
13. The Prescription
• Prescription: How much better to
do a daily spiritual check up! When
we are healthy physically, wounds
heal quicker, we have more
energy, we think clearer, and live
longer. When we remain in shape
spiritually, the same is true! To be
of service to God, we must be
Spiritually healthy.
14. The Prescription
• Prescription: A daily dose
of God's Word! God tells
us in His word how to be
spiritually healthy. Besides,
God's prescription is for
preventive medicine, as
well as comforting the
hurts.
15. Spiritual Nourishment
• Bible Study: We are what we
eat! So, do we eat “devil’s food,”
or “angel food?” Regular Bible
study is essential to sound
spiritual health.
• Psalm 1:2- But his delight is in
the law of the Lord, and in His
law he meditates day and night.
16. Spiritual Nourishment
• A Proverb A Day! There are 31
Proverbs, and 31 days in the
longest months. Read a Proverb
each day, and then memorize a
verse or two. This is the
beginning of meditation on God’s
word, and a source of healthy
wisdom.
17. Spiritual Exercise
• Spiritual Exercise: Just as Jesus
taught and practiced, we must spend
time with God in prayer: This is
essential to sound spiritual health.
• Phil 4:6- Be anxious for nothing, but
in everything by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let
your requests be made known to
God.
18. Spiritual Exercise
• Spiritual Exercise: Worship, praise,
and fellowship help keep us strong in
spirit. When we are apart from these
things, we become weak.
• Hebrews 10:25- Not
forsaking our own
assembling together as is
the habit of some, but
encouraging one another …
19. Rest In The Lord
• Rest: We must find time to
stop, be quiet, and be still.
God, after His creation of
all that is, took time to rest,
and declared that rest as
sacred. Jesus likewise
took time to rest and find
restoration.
20. Rest In The Lord
• Matt. 11:28-29 Come to
Me, all who are heavy
laden, and I will give you
rest. Take my yoke upon
you, and learn from Me, for
I am gentle and humble in
heart; and you shall find
rest for your souls.
