2. Hero
• I was hoping to use Sam who I’d used in my
Preliminary task – but he wasn’t free
3. I settled with Henry. I went for him
because he is slightly similar looking
to Sam, but also as the hero
character, has quite a friendly and
likeable way about him in looks and
character – I think this will show
through well in the film
4. Villain
My first choice was Luke – again somebody
who I used in my preliminary task. Some
people said he seemed too fun and not
suited to the role, although I disagreed. Due
to a mix up, I wasn’t able to use Luke for
filming on the day.
5. When Adam offered to use his house as a
location for filming, I thought he may
make a good villain. His muscular build
and facial features I felt made him good
for a villain. He had little experience
acting though, so I looked elsewhere.
6. I then approached Jack, somebody I knew had experience with
acting. Like Adam he has some good features of a villain, but with
Jack he also has dark hair. I thought this would work well with the
‘black and white’ theme.
7. Femme Fatale
I knew straight away I wanted to cast Dalya as my
femme fatale. With her good looks, it fits the ‘male
gaze’ that the character is required to have in this
genre. She also has a mystifying way about her that
can help uphold the dark secrets around the character.
She was very happy to help.
