type of world-class music festival the country
hopes to propagate now that the region has
found some stability, drawing big international
names as well as domestic stars. Held in the
renewed Bay of Luanda, which has benefited
from environmental cleanup and increased
services, the Luanda Sounds Fest is currently
the largest music festival in all of Angola.

4. Held in September, the festival draws a
lineup of internationally celebrated
musicians. Artists who performed over the
festival’s three days in 2013 included
British pop star Taio Cruz, Angola’s own
Yola Semedo, and American jazz singer
Joss Stone.
