Registration of
Primary
Cooperative

2. Organization of Cooperative
Primary Cooperative
Minimum of fifteen (15) natural persons
who are Filipino citizens, of legal age and
with a common bond of interest;
Prospective member of a primary
cooperative must have completed the Pre-
Membership Education Seminar (PMES)

3. • Minimum Paid-up Capital upon registration is
Fifteen Thousand Pesos (P15,000.00) for
single type;
• Newly organized primary coop may be
registered as multi purpose cooperative only
after compliance with the minimum
requirements for MPC;
• A single-purpose cooperative may transform
into a MPC or may create subsidiaries only
after at least two (2) of operations.

4. Documentary Requirements
for Registration
• Cooperative Name Reservation Notice (CNRN)
• Articles of Cooperation
• By-Laws
• Surety Bonds of Accountable Officers of the Cooperative
• Treasurer’s Affidavit
• Economic Survey
• Certificate of Pre-Membership Education Seminar (PMES)
signed by the cooperative Chairman, as validated by the
Authority;

5. • Undertaking to change name
• Undertaking to comply with other
requirements prescribed by the other
regulatory agency, when applicable
• Favorable endorsement/written
verification/authority/pre-feasibility
study, if applicable

6. • All documents should be submitted in four
(4) copies except for Cooperative Name
Reservation Notice (CNRN – 1 copy only)
• Registration fee – Minimum of Php 500.00
or 1/10 of 1% of the Authorized Share
Capital whichever is higher.

8. General Instruction
• All interim Board of Directors must affix their
signatures on the margin of every page thereof
except the page where the names and signatures
of cooperators are provided;
• All four (4) copies of the articles of cooperation
and by-laws shall bear original signatures;

9. General Instruction
• No photocopy of documents shall be accepted;
• The paper must be 8.5”x 13” or 8.5” x 14” and the font
type and size is Bookman Old Style 12;
• The use of metallic objects in fastening the documents is
not allowed.
